Began drawing and painting in childhood. As an adult, I have lived all over the country, attended workshops whenever I could.
I am most grateful to have studied under John Howard Sanden, founder of the Portrait Institute, at his Carnegie Hall studios, in New York City, in one of the first classes of only ten students; then, attended portrait painting sessions (at his studio) every week for about a year. These groups of ten artists painted portraits from a live model in a three hour period. That was in the mid seventies. Began painting professionally soon after.
Specialities:
• Fine art portraiture for corporations, universities, banks, government & military officials and dignitaries.
• Fine art portraiture of private individuals, their children & pets.
• Corporate and residential art. • Art for interior design associations and individuals.
I have a passion for flowers and trees, which I paint from my own photographs.
Many of my paintings, past and future, come from photos I took while flying in a small plane around the country, or while sailing on San Francisco Bay.
I am delighted to be a part of this website, and happy to make images of my work available to collectors all over the world.
